About Earthstone Companies

Under Big Lake the ground is old glacial sand, laid down by meltwater and later hidden by grass and bur oak — and, from November on, by snow. Earthstone Companies works that upper layer, clearing driveways, lots and walks in and around Big Lake. Storms out here tend to arrive at night, quietly, and finish sometime before four. The truck goes out into that and comes back at daylight having handed the town back its morning. There is a particular satisfaction in a lot pushed all the way to its far corners, banks stacked square, the doorways sanded and safe.
