About Johnson Landscaping

The Paul Bunyan State Trail runs right through Backus, and on either side of it the soil turns sandy and the pines take over from the fields. Johnson Landscaping keeps lawns going in that pine country — mowing, trimming, edging and cleaning up yards from the thaw straight through to the fall. Grass in Cass County has to work for it, growing between roots and needle drop and long dry stretches of August. Getting a lawn even and green out here is a small act of persistence, repeated weekly. What you end up with is a yard that holds its own against the woods pressing in from every side.
