Alexandria Dirt Works

About Alexandria Dirt Works

This is the country where a farmer's spade turned up the Kensington Runestone, and the ground west of Alexandria still rewards anyone willing to work it. Alexandria Dirt Works handles the rough-and-ready side of the seasons — lawn work when the glacial hills go green, snow removal when they disappear under a clipper. April here is mud and meltwater; they see yards through the thaw and into their first cutting. January is drifted gravel drives on the moraine, plowed out before the county trucks even reach the township roads. It is plain work in a storied landscape, and it gets done.
