Ypsilanti is not flat, whatever the maps suggest — the streets tilt down toward the Huron, and every slope in town becomes a different problem in January than it was in July. Hillside Lawn & Snow takes both versions: mowing and trimming a grade so the cut stays even, then plowing, shoveling and salting that same pitch so a car can climb it. Hills hold water and shed it, hold ice and hide it, and anyone working them learns to read a yard by its angle. There is honest pride in a sloped drive scraped down to dark pavement with salt worked into the low corner. Come summer, the same ground rolls back out in clean green bands.
