About Forrest For Hire

North of Ypsilanti the land opens into township farmland, and once the fields are bare a west wind will carry snow across them and lay it back down in a solid bar exactly where a driveway used to be. Forrest For Hire goes after those drifts — plowing, opening drives and parking areas, clearing walks and steps, and salting the ice hiding underneath. Out where houses sit far apart, being reachable matters more than anywhere else; a plowed lane is a lifeline to the county road. The work runs on the storm's clock rather than anyone's preference, which is simply how winter gets negotiated here. When it lets up, the routes get run again, because the wind is rarely finished.
