About Filby's Lawn Maintenance LLC

Southern Washtenaw County lays itself out in straight section lines, and York Charter Township fills the squares with corn, soybeans and long gravel drives. Filby's Lawn Maintenance LLC works that grid through the growing months, mowing, trimming and edging until each yard has a clean line where grass meets gravel. Come winter the same open fields let the wind run unchecked, and a driveway can drift shut between supper and morning. That is when the plow goes out — before the school buses, before the first commute down toward US-23. There is a particular satisfaction in a farm lane cleared end to end while the sky is still the color of slate.
