About Dan's Outdoor Services
Snow arrives on a northwest wind, quietly, and by four in the morning the gravel roads north of the lake have disappeared under it. Dan's Outdoor Services is out in that dark — plowing driveways, opening the turnaround, cutting a path to the door before anyone has to think about the drive to work. Lake-country drives run long and often uphill, and a machine that knows the pitch of one is easier on the surface under it. The measure of a good night is simple: the driveway already bare when the porch light comes on. Whitmore Lake and the roads threading Northfield and Green Oak townships are the territory, storm after storm.
