About Independence Grounds LLC

West of the township the ground goes soft into tamarack and cattail — the headwater country the Huron River drains — and a May rain out here can put an inch of growth on the grass overnight. Independence Grounds LLC works around that weather in White Lake Township, cutting when the ground will carry a mower without tearing, trimming the wet edges by hand, and hauling off the heavy spring clippings so they do not mat the turf down. Wet years ask for more visits, not fewer. The lawns that hold up in June are the ones somebody kept up in May. It is ordinary work, and doing it on time is what makes it worth something.
