Mulch & Dig

About Mulch & Dig

The glaciers left this township sandy and hilly and full of kettle lakes, which means a bed here drains fast and a shovel here hits stone often enough to keep a person humble. Mulch & Dig works that ground directly — digging and shaping beds, laying mulch dark and even so April yards look finished, then keeping the lawn cut and trimmed through the season. When the ground freezes the same equipment turns to snow removal, opening driveways and clearing the walks that run down toward the water. There is a specific pleasure in a fresh mulch line against green turf, and a different one in a plowed apron at first light. Both are the same idea: make the property usable and make it look right.
