About Pest, Lawn & Plow LLC

East of Wayland the flat farm country begins to lift toward Gun Lake and the oak ridges of Yankee Springs, and the weather there does whatever it likes. Pest, Lawn & Plow LLC keeps a year built out of two ledgers: snow removal at four in the morning, when the plow light is the only thing moving on a county road, and lawn care in July, when the mowing week never quite ends. Winter work is driveways and turnarounds opened wide enough for a truck and a mailbox; summer work is grass cut on schedule, trimmed tight, blown off clean. The pleasure of the cold half is arriving before anyone wakes and leaving nothing behind but bare pavement. The pleasure of the warm half is the smell of a fresh-mown yard at dusk with the lake wind coming up.
