Parshall Turf Care

About Parshall Turf Care

Grass wakes up here in slow motion. Snow gives back the open lawns at the Grand Traverse Commons a good week before it gives back the shaded ones, and for a while every yard in town is half mud and half green, still deciding. Parshall Turf Care works underneath all that — aerating compacted ground so air and water can reach the roots, overseeding the thin places, feeding turf on a schedule that suits a short northern summer, and treating weeds before they get to set the tone for August. Mowing keeps the surface honest; the rest of it is the part nobody sees until, suddenly, the lawn is thick enough to cross barefoot. From the first cut of May to the last cleanup of November, the aim is a stand of grass that earns its color.
