About Modal LLC

After closing, the lots along South Airport Road empty out and the tall lights turn falling snow orange. Modal LLC works that shift — plowing and stacking snow, clearing walks and entries, spreading salt on the ice that forms between the last car out and the first one in. Commercial ground has a geometry to it: where the piles go, where the melt runs, which corner freezes because it never sees the sun. Doing it cleanly means the morning looks as though nothing happened at all. In a Traverse City winter, that illusion takes a great many hours.
