By mid-October the oaks along the Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail let go all at once, and half of Thornapple Township turns the color of a paper bag. That is the season this outfit is named for. Lanning Lawn & Leaf handles mowing, trimming and edging through the growing months, then leaf removal and fall cleanup when the wind starts stacking drifts against fences and porch steps. A yard raked bare before the first hard freeze comes back greener in April — that is the whole argument, and it holds up every single year. The same rotation runs out toward Middleville and Hastings.
