About P&J Lawn Service, Inc.

Four in the morning on Telegraph Road, the plows are out before the traffic is, headlights lit up by whatever came down overnight. P&J Lawn Service, Inc. runs that shift — driveways cut open, walks shoveled to the step, salt laid where the melt will refreeze by first light. When a clipper crosses the Downriver flats there is no hill to hide behind and no time to argue about it; a drive is either clear when someone needs to leave for work or it is not. Come the green season the same properties get the other half of the job: mowing on a schedule, trimming, edging and cleanups that keep a place looking cared for from thaw to freeze. The best part of the winter run is the drive home at sunrise past a street of black pavement that was white four hours earlier.
