Mist-O-Matic Lawn Sprinklers

About Mist-O-Matic Lawn Sprinklers

Taylor sits on the floor of a lake that drained away thousands of years ago, and the clay it left behind can go from sponge to brick inside one dry week. That is the ground Mist-O-Matic Lawn Sprinklers works, setting and tuning irrigation so a June morning finds every zone throwing an even arc before the heat climbs off the pavement. Heads are aimed to the shape of the yard rather than the shape of a catalog, and the season gets bracketed at both ends — start-ups once the frost risk lifts, blow-outs before the lines can freeze solid. There is a plain satisfaction in walking a lot at seven in the morning and finding the whole thing wet to the corners with nothing running down the driveway. Water is worth doing exactly, and on flat, thirsty Downriver soil, exactness is the entire trade.
