About Hometown Outdoor Services

Four in the morning on an Elms Road subdivision street, and the only thing moving is an amber light swinging over fresh snow. Hometown Outdoor Services plows, shovels and salts so Swartz Creek can leave for work without thinking about it — drives opened, walks cleared, ice knocked down where the sun never reaches. By May the same trucks trade blades for mowers, and the neighborhoods go from white to cut-and-trimmed almost overnight. They like the ordinary miracle of it: you look out at seven and the day is already possible. Between the two ends of the calendar there are leaves to haul and edges to hold, and those get the same attention.
