Late in the day the Lakelands Trail runs empty and the hay lots around Stockbridge go the color of straw under a low sun. JR3services mows through that hour, finishing yards in the village and along the section roads that lead out of it. The work is weekly and unfussy — cutting, string trimming, edging the walks, clearing clippings off the drive. April brings the first cleanup of the year; November brings the last leaf haul. In a place this size, doing it the same way every single week is what people remember.
