The Little Muskegon runs cool and quick east of Stanwood, and the old rail grade — a pine-lined trail now — carries riders past hayfield and jack pine all summer. Twisted Trees Landscape and Maintenance keeps the yards along those roads mowed, trimmed and edged, with beds cut back sharp where turf meets mulch. Sandy west-Michigan ground drains fast, so reading the weather and timing the cut after a rain is half the job. April work clears whatever winter left behind; autumn work takes the leaves down to grass. The result is a yard that looks deliberate against a lot of wild country.
