About Goods' Services

The storms that matter here come down fast off the plains and reach St. Clair Shores in the middle of the night. Goods' Services is out in them — headlights on Jefferson Avenue at four in the morning, plow down, driveways opened one after another before the first alarms go off. The work is plowing, clearing walks and steps, and laying salt where freeze-thaw wants to turn yesterday's melt into ice. A cleared drive at dawn is a small thing that changes an entire day for the people who use it. That is the whole point of a snow route, and the reason for the early hour.
