About Pine Creek Dirt Works, LLC

Summer in Spurr is brief and beautiful, a few green months in the high, lake-dotted country of eastern Baraga County, when daylight lingers past nine-thirty and the granite outcrops warm in the sun. Pine Creek Dirt Works, LLC brings an earth-moving outfit's grit to lawn care here, where every yard has been hard-won from rock, sand and second-growth forest. Mowing in this ground means knowing where it dips and where a boulder hides beneath the grass, trimming around stumps and rock piles, and keeping the clearing open against woods that always want it back. A clean-cut lawn set against dark spruce feels like a minor victory over the wilderness, and in a way it truly is. Then the snow returns, and everyone waits for June to do it all again.
