About North Oakland Landscaping

At four in the morning the Dixie Highway is empty and the snow is still coming sideways off the open fields. North Oakland Landscaping is out in it, running the moraine roads around Springfield Township, opening drives before the first alarm clocks go off. Plowing, shoveling the walks, salting the slick spot at the bottom of every hill — that is the whole night, repeated until the last route closes. There is a plain pride in pulling away from a house at dawn with the driveway wet and black and the pavement showing. The homeowner never really sees the storm; they see a clear drive.
