Spearman's Lawncare

About Spearman's Lawncare

A Thursday in August, ninety degrees, not a breath of wind off the treeline at Valley Woods — and still the mower goes down one length of the yard and back up the next, stripe after stripe, until the whole lawn lies in the light like brushed velvet. Spearman's Lawncare takes plain satisfaction in that: mowing done evenly, string trimming around every post and pole, an edge cut where turf meets concrete so the walk looks drawn instead of worn. Clippings come off the drive before the truck leaves, every single time. Southfield's blocks between Nine Mile and Eleven run long and open, so one well-cut lawn carries down the street and pulls the neighbors along with it. That is the quiet ambition here — get one yard right, then the next one.
