About Phillips Outdoor Services

July in South Lyon is humid enough to wear, and the grass grows like it knows the heat won't last. Phillips Outdoor Services mows into that afternoon anyway — deck set high so the turf shades its own roots, lines run straight down the long backyards that slope toward the wet low ground. Trimming around fence posts and play sets, edging the drive, blowing the walk clean before the truck pulls off. There is a smell that comes up off a fresh-cut lawn around four o'clock that is most of the reason to do this work at all. The yard is ready for the evening, when everybody finally comes outside.
