Herons nest at Holland Ponds every spring, and their arrival is as reliable a start gun as Shelby Township offers: the ground thaws, the water opens, the season is on. Michigan Allied Lawn and Landscape, Inc. takes its cue from that turn, beginning with cleanups and then settling into weekly mowing, trimming and edging through the long green stretch to October. Landscape work fills the gaps — beds shaped and mulched, borders held to a clean line, the small structure that makes a property look composed. Then the ponds skim over, the wind comes hard across open ground, and the trucks go out with plows and salt to keep drives and lots passable.
