There is one day every November — nobody knows which one until it happens — when the mower comes off the trailer for the last time and the plow goes on. R&K Lawn and Snow lives on both sides of that day. Spring through October it is mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups around Sault Ste. Marie and out the Brimley road; November through April it is plowing drives, opening walks and staying ahead of the ice. The same yard, learned twice over. Most people here would rather make one call than two, and want a place that looks looked-after in July and is open in January.
