Saranac fits into a bend of the Grand River in a few short blocks, a ball field, a handful of streets, and farmland starting again almost immediately. Ty the Lawn Guy mows those blocks and the places out past them, trimming around posts and playsets, edging the sidewalks, clearing leaves when the valley maples let go. A Friday in July here is warm and unhurried, and there is something quietly good about leaving a street where every lawn on the run is cut even. Between Lowell and Ionia the yards sit close enough together that care shows up fast. That is reason enough to hold the line straight.
