The wind off Lake Huron reaches Sandusky about fifteen miles inland — cooling on a July evening, merciless in January. Wolverine Lawn Care takes the town on both terms: mowing, trimming and edging through the long summer light, cleanups in spring and fall, then plowing and shoveling once the drifts start walking across the road. A drive opened while it is still dark, salt down on the steps, and the bus makes its corner on time. In summer the reward is simpler — a clean line along the walk and the smell of fresh-cut grass at dusk. Sandusky, Port Sanilac, Carsonville and Applegate are all served.
