Down by Ojibway Island the river slows, the cottonwoods lean over the bank, and by mid-June the whole town smells like cut grass. Yancy's Landscaping keeps the neighborhoods around it green — mowing, trimming, edging and hauling off clippings so a lawn stays even week to week instead of getting rescued once a month. Saginaw ground is rich and low and takes water well; give it a regular cut and it pays back in color. The good part of the day is pulling out of a drive and looking back at a yard that suddenly has shape again. Street by street, the summer looks better.
