Bare Snow & Landscaping

About Bare Snow & Landscaping

A clipper comes down out of Canada with no hills to slow it, and by three in the morning Eleven Mile is a white ribbon under the streetlights. Bare Snow & Landscaping is out in it, plowing drives, clearing walks and treating the ice that forms where meltwater runs back across the concrete. Royal Oak driveways sit narrow and close together, so the work is as much about where the snow goes as how fast the blade moves. There is a specific quiet to a street at that hour — engine, scraper, nothing else — and then a car door at six and someone backing out onto bare pavement. That is the whole job, and it is a good one.
