About Winter Services - Detroit, MI

A snow band that forms over Lake Michigan can be standing above Romulus by midnight, and everything after that is a matter of timing. Winter Services - Detroit, MI runs its plows out of this corner of Wayne County, working the drives, walks and commercial lots between the airport freight roads and the neighborhoods that back onto them. The job is plowing, shoveling, salting and de-icing, then doing all of it again while the storm is still going, because a lot opened at eleven is a lot buried by four. Salt goes where the wind scours pavement bare and re-glazes it before dawn. When morning comes and the traffic moves like nothing ever happened, that's the measure of the night. Romulus, Detroit and the communities in between, all winter long.
