About Addington Outdoor Services

The old railroad grade through Rockford is a walking trail now, and on a June evening the sun slides down it in long yellow bars. Addington Outdoor Services works the side streets that feed into it, mowing, trimming and clearing yards week after week through the growing season. Kent County sand drains fast, so the deck rides high through the dry stretch of July and comes down again once the nights cool off. The best part is the last pass, when the stripes finally line up and the clippings get blown back off the walk instead of left to scatter. By the time the fireflies lift out of the grass, the yard is finished and the evening belongs to whoever lives there.
