In fall the cranes lift off the Haehnle marsh before sunrise, calling their way over the fields north of Rives while the day's first mowers are still warming up. Sunrise Lawn & Garden takes those early hours — mowing, string trimming, edging, and the leaf work that follows the maples down through late October. Cool mornings carry heavy dew, so the day opens on the dry, exposed yards and finishes under the shade trees. Grass cut at the right height in autumn goes into winter thick rather than matted, which is worth an extra pass on its own. Rives, Munith, Pleasant Lake and the country lying between them.
