Where M-89 and M-43 come together, Richland spreads out into rolling ground the ice left behind — low hills, sudden hollows, oaks that go copper in October. Landscape Services mows and trims across it, following contours that never quite let a mower run straight for long. Autumn is the honest season for lawn work here: growth slows, the light comes in sideways, and every uneven cut of the summer shows itself. The last mowings of the year, taken at the right height with the edges reopened, are what a yard wears all winter. There's something worth doing carefully in that final pass before the ground goes hard.
