McAllister's Lawn Care

About McAllister's Lawn Care

Out past the city limits, Portland township is hayfields and corn ground rolling down to the Grand River bottoms, with gravel roads that raise a plume of dust in July and go glassy in January. McAllister's Lawn Care keeps two calendars for that country: mowing, trimming and cleanups while the ground is green, plowing and clearing once it isn't. Farm-country lawns are generous — big front yards, long two-track drives, a windbreak of pines that drops needles all season — and they reward somebody willing to take the extra pass. In summer the finish is a lawn that looks combed against the fields behind it; in winter it is a drive opened wide enough for the feed truck to swing in. The work changes shape but the standard doesn't. Same roads, same yards, all year.
