Deep winter on Dixie Highway has an hour all its own — three in the morning, blowing snow crossing the headlights sideways. Michigan Snow Plowing runs the route then, plowing drives and lots around Pontiac, clearing walks by hand where a blade can't reach, and laying ice control on the spots that always glaze first. Snow shows up here in every temper: the dry squeaky kind on a ten-degree night, the heavy wet load of a late-February system. Both get moved. The payoff is somebody stepping outside at six with a coffee and finding the way out already open.
