In late May the Bear River runs cold and loud through the middle of town, and the grass along it comes in all at once. Peggy's Gardening keeps Petoskey lawns through that rush and the calm that follows — mowing, trimming, edging, and the cleanups that open spring and close autumn. Mornings start with dew still sitting on the blades and end with the clippings swept off the walk. It is unhurried work, done at a pace that notices things: a bed line straightened, a corner the mower can't reach finished by hand. A yard tended this way looks like somebody lives there and loves it.
