West of Petoskey the road follows the shore toward Bay Harbor, past drives long enough to need a weather plan of their own. Drost Landscape works that ground through both halves of the year: mowing, trimming, edging and bed work while things are growing, then plowing, shoveling and salting once they stop. Larger properties reward a system — a route, a sequence, an order of operations that never doubles back on itself. Done right, a lawn holds an even color to the last cut of October, and in February the pavement is bare by breakfast. The place ends up looking looked-after, which is the entire point of the trade.
