The Looking Glass River runs the low country southwest of Perry Township, and the yards near that bottomland are first to go soggy in November and last to firm up in April. Lucas' Lawn Care works both edges of that calendar — final mows, leaf cleanups and edging in the fall, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the cold locks everything down. Spring runs the same film backward: cleanup, the first cut of the year, and the walks and drives handed their borders back. Shoulder-season weather here can give you slush at daybreak and dry grass by three in the afternoon, so the truck goes out carrying for both.
