Paris keeps its little park along the Muskegon River, and by January the whole of it has gone white and silent while the water stays open and black down the middle. Z&Z snowplowing & landscape works the cold hours around that stillness — pushing driveways back to their real width, opening turnarounds so a truck can swing, scraping walks down to sure footing. Snow up here has a habit of arriving overnight and then again by supper, so on the days that ask for it the route gets driven twice. The last pass is the one that counts: banks squared, the mailbox reachable, the drive open end to end before anyone needs it. Plowing runs Paris and out toward Big Rapids, Reed City, and Stanwood.
