The day starts early in a town like this — coffee on before light, and by the time the sun is up over Whitefish Bay the grass has dried enough to cut. Wheelhouse Diner & Goatlocker Saloon looks after lawns around Paradise in those hours: mowing, string-trimming the fence lines, edging the walks people actually use. There is a plain pleasure in taking a shaggy yard and handing it back level and green, especially where summer gets measured in weeks rather than months. Later in the season the work shifts to leaves and one last low cut, and then the grass stops arguing until spring. Mowing runs in town and along the roads toward Whitefish Point.
