Oxford Charter Township is pocked with kettle lakes — Clear, Davis, Tan — melt-holes left by a glacier that has been gone ten thousand years, and water still sets the calendar here. H2O lawn & snow follows it: April runoff and the first mowing, the summer rhythm of cutting, trimming and edging, then leaf cleanups when the lakes turn the color of pewter. In January that same water arrives stacked and frozen, and the trucks switch to plowing drives, opening walks and salting the slick foot of every slope. Lake roads narrow fast in a storm, so they get pushed back wide instead of just passable. One element, two seasons, and a place kept usable through both.
