Saturday morning in Owosso has a sound to it, and a good part of that sound is mowers. Fry's Lawn Care & More moves through the neighborhoods on a route learned by heart — the corner lot that wants an extra pass, the strip between sidewalk and curb everybody else skips, the gate that sticks. Mowing, trimming, edging, cleanup: it is a short list, and there is nowhere to hide a sloppy job on any of it. Grass comes on hard here in May and June and does not quit until the nights cool, so the calendar is set by the lawn rather than the other way round. By afternoon the street looks trimmed end to end, and that is the point.
