Carlton Lawn Service

About Carlton Lawn Service

Some September mornings the Shiawassee River lets go a low fog that fills the yards along the bottomland and does not lift until nine. Carlton Lawn Service is out in it, deck wet, cutting a first pass through grass still holding dew, and by mid-morning the sun burns it off and the stripes show. Lawn work here is a weekly promise kept from April into November — mowing, trimming, tidying the edges where turf wants to creep across concrete. Later the river runs black between white banks, and the same trucks turn to plowing drives and clearing walks so a door can open. Owosso rewards the kind of steadiness that simply shows up.
