Otsego sits on a bend of the Kalamazoo River, a mill town whose sidewalks run down toward the water and whose lawns green up fast in the damp warmth of the valley. B.T.'S Landscaping, LLC works those yards straight through the growing season — mowing and trimming, beds edged clean, mulch laid fresh so the plantings stand out against it. There is something worth pausing over in a curved bed line that follows the ground instead of fighting it. By late summer this valley grows everything twice as fast as it ought to, which only means more chances to keep a place looking cared for.
