The River Road follows the Au Sable west out of Oscoda past Foote Dam and the overlooks, and the homes strung along it need looking after in every month on the calendar. S & C Services LLC handles the green half — mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups in spring and fall — and the white half too, plowing driveways, clearing walkways and salting the spots that glaze over first. River-valley properties collect leaves in October and drifting snow in February, and a long two-track drive is a job of its own. The aim is simple enough: grass that looks deliberate in July, and a drive you can pull out of at six in the morning in January without a second thought.
