Orion Township is glacier country — kettle lakes, wooded hills, and driveways that curve down a slope without ever once running straight. That shape matters in winter, because a sloped drive has to be cleared early and treated properly or it becomes something nobody wants to walk down. We plow the drives and lots, shovel the walks and porches, and put ice control on the grades and the north-side corners the sun never touches. Snow gets stacked where it will not block a sightline at the road or drown a bed when spring finally takes it. Between Lake Orion and Oxford, a January morning with the drives open and the hills still white is a fine thing to have had a hand in.
