Cherithbrook Farm

About Cherithbrook Farm

The Red Cedar River runs slow through Okemos, and the town takes its calendar from the water — silver in March, green-shadowed in July, edged with ice by December. Cherithbrook Farm keeps yards along that corridor, mowing and trimming through the long humid middle of the year, then turning to the plow once the river fogs and the roads glaze. A lawn cut on the river's schedule looks different: deeper green under the oaks, clean lines where the ground rolls down toward the bank. Come winter the same drives are opened and salted before the sky lightens, so nobody has to guess at the bottom of a slope. Mowing, edging, cleanups, plowing, shoveling, de-icing — one property, watched the whole way around the year.
