Plym Park goes gold in the second week of October, and Niles spends about ten days pretending winter is not on the way. Owens Lawn Care uses those days well — final mows, leaf cleanup, edges cut sharp before the ground hardens. Then the work turns over: plowing, shoveling, salting, driveways opened while the neighborhood is still asleep. It is the same set of properties either way, just a different job laid on top of them. Watching a street you look after come through an entire year looking cared for is reason enough to keep the truck loaded.
