About Beerman Firewood & Logging
February in Newaygo County smells like woodsmoke at seven in the morning, and the sky to the west keeps sending more of what the lake makes. Beerman Firewood & Logging spends those weeks on snow removal — drives, turnarounds, farm approaches and the long two-tracks that nobody else wants to attempt. A cold snap after a wet storm sets the ruts like concrete, so the good work is the early work, before the sun and the traffic have a chance to argue with it. Getting a household out to the road on a morning like that is a small, complete thing, and it holds up all day.
