Newaygo sits where the land tips down toward the Muskegon River, and anyone who has climbed M-37 out of that valley in January knows what a grade does to drifting snow. Alpine Contracting LLC works those slopes and the flat driveways alike, pushing and shoveling until dark pavement shows again under the yard light. When the frost finally lets go of the sand, the same trucks turn to lawn care — mowing, trimming, the tidy line where turf meets a gravel two-track. There is a plain satisfaction in a drive opened before the first car door swings, and in a yard cut so evenly the morning shadows lie straight across it.
